About Us

At Abel Homes, we provide sponsored residential services to individuals with intellectual disabilities. Our person-centered model emphasizes providing a nurturing environment, to help individuals develop life skills, engage with their community, and build confidence in their lives.

Tailored

Every person is different. Which is why our staff is committed to developing support plans tailored to each individual and their unique needs. Whether it is support with daily activities such as safety skills, budgeting/money management, personal hygiene, socialization, cooking/cleaning, or making healthy decisions – we provide a caring environment to help the individual reach their full potential.

Professional

Abel Homes recruits qualified families, licensed by the state to provide 24 hours support in their homes to not more than two individuals with intellectual disabilities. Abel Homes provides the screening, quality assurance, oversight and training to ensure consistent delivery of superior services.

Safety

We understand you care deeply about your loved ones and want to ensure they are getting the best assistance possible. Which is why our Direct Support Specialists have gone through comprehensive screening and interview processes, including background checks and training.

How It Works

In our Sponsored Residential home programs, individuals with disabilities are placed in one of our State licensed homes, where they are provided with support 24/7. Direct Support Specialists are responsible for day to day care including providing meals, medication administration, arranging for medical care and treatment, and to meet other specific needs that may be needed.

Mission

The mission of Abel Homes is to provide Sponsored Residential Support services, benefits, and protections available in a traditional group home, but we are able to achieve this in the comfort and intimacy of a family setting. Individuals are welcomed with open arms as family member, rather than a client or patient and included in family functions and community activities.

Vision

Our vision is to provide an opportunity for individuals to receive support and training necessary to gain independence in a supportive and nurturing residential setting.

Goals

Our Sponsored program uses the home and community to train each person in functional life skills such as:
• Safety skills
• Budgeting/money management
• Personal hygiene
• Socialization
• •Cooking/cleaning
• Making healthy decisions
